Graeme McDowell made a astounding start with his new Srixon and Cleveland equipment in the US Tour's seasonal opener in Hawaii - the Hyundai Tournament of Champions.
The Ryder Cup leading man shot a beautiful final round course record equalling 11-under 62 to end in third place - just one shot away from securing a place in a play-off.
McDowell produced his fantastic 23-under score using his new Srixon ZTX iron set, Cleveland wedges and the new Srixon Z-STAR XV ball, which will be officially launched at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando at the end of this month.
The Ulsterman posted an impressive range of stats for the week with the highlight being his tied first place ranking for greens in regulation, using his new Srixon ZTX irons.
He hit 94% of greens in reg in round one, 89 in rounds two and three and 94 again in his scintillating closing 62.
This week's finish saw him rise to No. 5 in the world rankings.
"I'm just over the moon with the way I played this week, Srixon are making some wonderful gear. The Z-Star XV ball is amazing and my new ZTX irons are attractive,"McDowell said.
G-Mac has been under intense scrutiny because of his equipment change from his previous company, which he used to win the U.S. Open last year.
McDowell said that he has just proven to the people that he was not innocent enough to convert to inferior golf clubs. He was very confident in Srixon and all he has done was gone from one great company to another.
